The Henry Nasrallah Distinguished Research Award

The Henry A. Nasrallah Distinguished Researcher Award was established to honor Dr. Henry A. Nasrallah’s more than 40 years of outstanding contributions to psychiatric research. This award was established by the American Academy of Clinical Psychiatrists (AACP) to recognize the lifetime achievements of senior investigators whose work has had a substantial and lasting impact on the fields of psychiatry, psychopharmacology, or neuroscience. The goal of the award is to honor an individual whose overall professional and scientific productivity has advanced knowledge, improved understanding, and influenced research and clinical practice within these disciplines.

The Process for Selecting Awardees

The award is intended to be a national honor recognizing senior career investigators. Recipients are selected based on their sustained scientific contributions, scholarly output, and the overall influence of their work on psychiatry, psychopharmacology, or neuroscience. Selection is made by an Awards Committee appointed within the AACP. The award is announced to the membership and formally presented at the AACP Annual CME Conference, which is currently held in partnership with Medscape.

The Form of the Award

The recipient of the Henry A. Nasrallah Distinguished Researcher Award receives an engraved glass award in recognition of their accomplishments. The presentation of the award takes place during the AACP Annual CME Conference and serves as a public acknowledgment of the awardee’s contributions to the field.
